Ashmole Trust was formed in 2015 building upon the success of Ashmole Academy and its tradition of outstanding school performance. The Trust currently consists of a primary and secondary school and has future expansion plans.

Head of Chemistry

Are you a talented Chemistry teacher ready to take on leading the Chemistry Department or a Head of Chemistry looking for a new challenge? Ashmole Academy, a high-achieving, mixed comprehensive school in North London, is seeking a dynamic and passionate Head of Chemistry.

The Science Faculty at Ashmole Academy is a well-established, collaborative team dedicated to fostering curiosity and a passion for science in our students. Our curriculum is designed to encourage scientific thinking while developing students’ knowledge and skills, inspiring the next generation of science professionals.

Chemistry is a highly popular subject within the Science Faculty, consistently achieving outstanding academic outcomes at both GCSE and A-Level. Many of our Chemistry students go on to study at prestigious Russell Group universities. As Head of Chemistry, you will work closely with the Heads of Biology, Physics, and Psychology under the leadership of our innovative Head of Faculty to create a culture of excellence, aspiration, and care within the department.

The department is well-equipped with 12 laboratories, a modern prep room, and a dedicated team of three science technicians.

Teacher of Chemistry

We are looking to appoint an experienced Chemistry teacher to join our diverse and dynamic Science Faculty who is passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists.  Must be able to teach KS5

The Science Faculty at Ashmole Academy has a well-established collaborative team, who are committed to fostering a curiosity in our students for science in the world around us. Our science curriculum encourages students to think like scientists whilst developing their knowledge and skills as we seek to inspire the next generation of science specialists.

Chemistry is a popular subject within the Science Faculty and has a proven track record of high academic outcomes at GCSE and A level. Many of our Chemistry students go on to study at Russell Group universities.

Our Science team constantly contributes towards pedagogical improvements across the school and they strive to offer students an engaging curriculum with high-quality teaching. This is complemented by a strong extra-curricular provision and Scholar’s programme.

In 2024, at GCSE more than two thirds of our separate science students achieved at least a Grade 8, and approximately 30% achieved a Grade 9. Approximately three quarters of our combined science students achieved a grade 5 or above. At A-Level, approximately 50% of students achieved A*-B and 30% achieved A*-A.
