Prize Giving is such an important event on our school’s calendar and for our school community, and it was such a shame we could not hold the event as we usually do. However, we were absolutely determined to celebrate the success of our students, and so held Prize Giving Ceremonies for each year group. Mr Sullivan led each ceremony, supported by the Assistant Heads and Heads of Year, whereby he spoke about how very proud the students should be of themselves. In addition, we also invited two guest speakers to give virtual speeches. Jonny Geller is a Literacy Agent and the CEO of the Curtis Brown Group. His words were inspiring, about aiming high and making the most of every opportunity; sentiments we uphold here at Ashmole. We also invited Patricia Moore to speak, who is the Managing Director at Turner and Townsend and a truly inspiring figure, who has carved out an impressive career in a male dominated field. Again, she offered inspirational advice to our winners about overcoming difficulties and the importance of trying your very best. All students received a Waterstones Voucher as a reward, and we hope their families enjoyed watching the ceremony from the comfort of their homes.
