As a school, we promote Literacy in every aspect of the school day.

We recognise the ways in which a passion for reading promotes academic development, wellbeing and a greater understanding of the world around us. Reading helps to shape us by increasing our awareness of the experiences of others, developing empathy, promoting kindness and encouraging well-informed ideas.

Being able to communicate ideas and feelings to others effectively is vital to our students’ success both during and beyond their school career. This is honed through the rigorous development of students’ vocabulary and regular opportunities to speak and write with expertise and confidence to various audiences.
