Last year, students in Year 12 from various subject areas attended a seminar hosted by Sophie Wilcock, a Managing Editor for the Financial Times.  Students discussed the importance of refining their opinions and how to communicate them effectively through their writing.   Subsequently they conducted independent research and completed a draft article on their chosen topic.  After receiving detailed editorial comments from Sophie, they submitted their polished articles.  Sophie shortlisted two submissions: one from Anastasia Grech and one from Jessica Hember.  After commending Anastasia's inventiveness and eloquent style, Mr El Syed decided upon Jessica’s 'article as the winning entry.
