Safeguarding at Ashmole

Ashmole Academy is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff to share this commitment. The health and safety of all children is paramount. As a school, we will take all reasonable action to ensure the safety and wellbeing of our students. In cases where the school has reason to be concerned that a child may be subject to ill treatment, neglect or other forms of abuse, staff must follow the school’s Safeguarding Policy, which is in line with the DfE Keeping Children Safe In Education, and inform Children’s Social Care Services of their concerns.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare.  We will ensure that our concerns about the students are discussed with parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare. Records of welfare concerns will be kept about a child. 

If you have any concerns about the safety or welfare of a child please contact the school immediately and clearly state that your call relates to a potential safeguarding issue, or if you prefer please send an email into the school, clearly marked for the attention of the Designated Safeguarding Lead.  

If your concerns are outside of School hours or during the school holidays, please contact the police through 101. If a child is in imminent danger then please dial 999 for the Police.
