Rewards at Ashmole
Our rewards system is built on our dedication to recognising the uniqueness of every learner. We are passionate about offering the best education for our pupils and work in partnership with parents, carers and the local community.
We have a set of six values that underpin all that we stand for in the school. These are Endeavour, Reflection, Professionalism, Responsibility, Respect and Co-operation. They show the emphasis we place on Achievement, Behaviour and Community, collectively known as the “ABC of Excellence”.
Our rewards system encourages and celebrates students who demonstrate these six values within our community ethos of excellence, aspiration and care.
Rewarding students acknowledges their effort and their character, as well as their achievements, whilst at the same time exemplifying the behaviours we desire in our community.
Achievement Assemblies are integrated into the assembly programme to celebrate the achievement of our students in all areas of school life and to highlight and encourage students to participate in the wide range of high-quality enrichment activities that are available at Ashmole Academy.
Students with the highest number of Values Points will receive additional monetary rewards at various points across the academic year.
Ashmole Academy participates in the Jack Petchey Gold Achievement Award Scheme.
Jack Petchey Achievement Award winners are young people who have gone above and beyond to achieve, perhaps when others thought they might fail. The Jack Petchey Foundation recognises that Awards mean different things to different people. The Jack Petchey Achievement Awards are not solely for academic achievement, they may be used to recognise a personal triumph for someone who has faced a challenge, a young person who has pushed themselves outside of their comfort zone or it may be an opportunity to recognise the outstanding efforts of a team player or someone who has made an exceptionally positive contribution to their community. An important part of the scheme is the involvement of young people in selecting the award winners for their hard work and efforts.
Awards Evening takes place each academic year at Ashmole Academy. It is a formal occasion to celebrate students who have been identified for the academic subject award for their year groups as well as celebrating students for demonstrating each of the six Ashmole Values.
Parents/carers and governors are invited to attend this special event.
The awards given out at Awards Evening may be tailored to suit the unique achievements of particular cohorts of students.
Awards typically given out at Awards Evening may include but are not limited to the following:
- Academic Subject Awards
- Ashmole Values Awards
- Ashmole Parents and Friends Association (APFA) Award for Musical Performance
