World Book Day 2024
World Book Day
All week, students have been invited to participate in a "Guess the Teacher behind the book" photo competition, or they could take the Book Trail around the school to see if they could locate all 19 book posters and letters. (Easter Eggs and Book Tokens will be awarded to lucky winning entries, early next week!)
Then, on Thursday, students took part in the book quiz during tutor times and at lunchtime we held a big book swap in the Library. Many students took advantage of this opportunity to bring in a book they no longer wanted and exchanged them for new ones.
Official World Book day tokens have been distributed, so don't forget to use them at participating supermarkets, WHSmiths, Waterstones and many independent bookshops, before the end of March. You can use them to pick a free World Book Day book worth £1 or use the token towards another book of your choice.
Finally, to coincide with World Book Day, new recommended reading lists for Year 7 to Year 11 have been published on the school website, on Google Classroom and hard copies are available in all tutor bases. Please feel free to browse these to help you find your next great book!
