We actively teach students to communicate effectively in a range of contexts. Each subject has its own research-informed approach to writing which best suits expertise in that subject.

In addition, we have a whole-school approach to spelling, punctuation and grammar and students receive regular feedback from their teachers using this framework. Frequent use across the curriculum develops confidence and independence in students’ ability to check their writing for accuracy.

We engage with local and national writing competitions.
