This term, Year 12 students from a range of subjects have been participating in the 2019 Student Investor Challenge.  A nationwide competition that allows students to invest a virtual £100,000 into a set of stocks and shares based on real life data linked to the FTSE 100. The best performing teams will progress to Phase 2 of the competition in January.  The teams have made a great start with plenty of savvy investments - especially from the 'forexperts' who have seen great success with their 'Strategic Investor' portfolio and topped the national leader board at the end of October!

We utilise both charts and news to come to our conclusions and assess whether an investment will be worthwhile. A large part of the challenge also involves taking risks, which can either result in a large gain or a painful loss.“
