A group of students who shared an interest in Medicine were lucky enough to be part of a talk led by three Imperial medical students.  The students have each been studying medicine for three years and were able to answer any questions we had about applying for medicine and what it is like to study at university.  During the talk, the students provided us with advice for our UCAS applications, focusing on personal statements.  This included examples of general structures we could use as well as key information we should mention.  Many of us found this extremely useful because we will soon be starting our UCAS applications in Year 13. In addition to this, the students informed us about the BMAT and UCAT, these are entrance exams required for medical schools.  As the students have experienced these entrance exams themselves, they could provide helpful tips that may not be found elsewhere.  Personally, I found speaking to the medical students a unique opportunity, as I will now go on to use their first hand experience and advice to enhance my own application and I am sure many others will too.
